ICU’s sponsorship is part of the firm’s ongoing commitment to supporting initiatives that promote business opportunities in Ukraine to the global financial community

ACCELERATING REFORMS, GROWTH IN NEW SECTORS, AND A NEW REGULATORY FRAMEWORK ALL MAKE UKRAINE AN ATTRACTIVE DESTINATION FOR INVESTORS

London, 9 October 2018 – Against the backdrop of an accelerating reform agenda, along with growth in areas such as agriculture and technology, Ukraine should focus on its economic achievements in order to improve trade and investment opportunities with other countries, according to speakers who took part in Ukrainian Week’s business forum on 9 October, 2018.

ICU, an independent asset management, private equity and investment advisory firm specialising in Central and Eastern Europe was one of the sponsors of the forum, which explored the growing Ukrainian economy and areas where UK and Ukrainian business can cooperate on post-Brexit changes in trade flows and agreements. Technology and Agriculture sectors were two areas singled out by the panel as having massive potential for foreign investors to invest in.

Speaking at the event, Makar Paseniuk, Managing Partner at ICU, said:

“Sectors such as agriculture and technology are growing steadily and increasingly contributing to Ukraine’s GDP. They are creating wealth for the country and are areas where we can easily collaborate with foreign businesses.”

Commenting on the reform agenda, Mr. Paseniuk said: “Implementing a regulatory framework might have one-off pain effect but will establish clear market-based rules for Ukrainian and foreign business and create a plain playing field for all”.

The Ukrainian Week was launched by the British-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce (BUCC), and MHP, an agricultural company listed on the London Stock Exchange.

ICU’s sponsorship is part of the firm’s ongoing commitment to supporting initiatives that promote business opportunities in Ukraine to the global financial community.
