ICU SUPPORTS UKRAINE CFA INSTITUTE RESEARCH CHALLENGE 2017-2018

ICU, an independent asset management firm specialising in Central and Eastern Europe, is pleased to announce that teams from Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman and Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv have won the final of the Ukraine CFA Institute Research Challenge. ICU is the principal sponsor of the challenge, an annual competition that promotes best practices in equity research among the next generation of analysts in Ukraine.

 

The winning teams will travel to Dublin on 4-5 April 2018 to compete in the EMEA Regional Final against teams from 30 other countries.

 

The Ukraine CFA Institute Research Challenge is run in collaboration with the CFA Society Ukraine which unites more than 200 representatives of the investment profession within the country. The organization is non-governmental, not-for-profit, run by volunteers and part of the worldwide network of Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) that are member societies of the CFA Institute.

 

This year more than 180 students from 27 leading universities took part in the Ukrainian competition. Each student participant was tested by investment experts on their analytic, valuation, report writing and presentation skills and gained invaluable work experience in the role of a research analyst through hands-on mentoring and intensive training.

 

The winning Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman team is made up of: Vlada Zasypko, Olha Bahdrivska, Roman Pavyuk, Yevhen Siedov, Oleksii Yermolenko.

 

The winning Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv team is made up of: Bohdan Yakymchuk, Melaniia Volkodav, Dmytro Klapushynskyi, Oleh Kabanov, Andrii Diakiv.

 

ICU’s sponsorship is part of the firm’s ongoing commitment to supporting initiatives that promote best practice in the next generation of financial services professionals in Ukraine.
