The founder of the international financial group ICU Makar Paseniuk was elected co-chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kyiv School of Economics.
The co-chairman’s role involves active participation in the management of the School and leading important strategic projects of the university. In particular, Makar Paseniuk will head the School's fundraising department.
"Our goal is a university that provides international levels of education in Ukraine. We want to see more success stories of students from the Kyiv School of Economics, while increasing competitiveness and demand for them in the labor market.
The fuel that enables the university to develop is transparent and reliable funding. As an investment banker with more than 20 years of experience, I will make every effort to move the School forward, and to show the School’s sponsors that their input into Ukrainian education gives the country clear results," said Makar Paseniuk.
President of the Kyiv School of Economics Tymofiy Mylovanov noted that the new appointment is a key step towards strengthening the corporate governance of the School.
"I very much appreciate Makar’s contribution to the development of education and science in Ukraine and the Kyiv School of Economics in particular. Together we managed to do what many thought was impossible. ICU was the first company to provide significant support to the School. Those were very difficult times for the School, but the founders of ICU wanted to develop science and believed in world-class Ukrainian education.
Those who believed in us first are the most valuable. Together we created the Kyiv School of Economics in its new sense - as a university. I am sincerely proud of the opportunity to work on this project together," said Tymofiy Milovanov.
Makar Paseniuk joined the board of directors of the Kyiv School of Economics in November 2019. ICU has been a strategic partner and one of the main sponsors of KSE since 2017.
