The ICU Group supports Ukraine through its daily operations and charitable giving. During the two years of full-scale war, ICU donated about UAH 300 millionto aid Ukraine. Avangard Bank, one of the group's most active financial donors, contributed more than UAH 127 million in charitable assistance to support Ukraine and is one of the industry leaders in this area.

ICU Group remains one of the leading taxpayers in the Ukrainian financial market. In 2022—2023, the group paid more than UAH 330 million in taxes and fees to the state budget.

As a socially responsible business, ICU will continue to support Ukraine financially to the best of its ability this year.

Supporting UNITED24

ICU Group is a partner of UNITED24, the official fundraising platform of Ukraine, created under the initiative of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The idea of the platform is to unite the world around helping Ukraine to protect, save lives, and rebuild. UNITED24 was created to cooperate with charitable foundations, partners, donors, and public figures around the world.

ICU supports both the operational activities of UNITED24 and finances the platform's projects, including the Help the Rescuers fundraiser to combat the consequences of the terrorist attack on the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, the Game4Ukraine charity match, and many others.

Supporting the Tabletochki Foundation

The charity foundation provides the necessary treatment for children fighting cancer.

For many years, ICU founders Makar Paseniuk and Kostyantin Stetsenko have been regularly supporting the Tabletochki charity foundation, which has been providing systematic targeted assistance to children with cancer for more than 13 years.

In July 2024, the group donated UAH 5 million to the foundation to restore the Okhmatdyt hospital, which has been one of the key recipients of the foundation's aid over the years.

In total, ICU has transferred more than UAH 15 million for the treatment and rehabilitation of the Foundation's patients.

Ukrainian Financial Forum

Since 2014, ICU has been organising the Ukrainian Financial Forum (UFF), one of the foremost financial events in Ukraine.

UFF is an open platform for distinguished authorities on international economics to discuss the global macroeconomic trends and domestic market reforms that are shaping Ukraine’s economy.

UFF has consistently featured high-profile international speakers who share ICU’s belief that Ukraine is in a period of exciting change and has a bright future. Edward Lucas (former foreign correspondent at the Economist), Poul Thomsen, IMF European Director (2014–2020), and Gosta Ljungman (the IMF Resident Representative in Ukraine), are just a few of the household names that have spoken at UFF in the past.

 

ICU Business Books

In 2015, ICU Financial Group launched a publishing project called ICU Business Books.

The idea is to publish books on business and economics that deserve the attention of a wide readership in Ukraine. These are the so-called must-read titles that have received international awards or have a significant impact on the global audience — officials, the business community, and a wide range of economic entities.

The language of the project is Ukrainian. The selection of books for publication is carried out by ICU team. The selection includes award-winning books recognised by the Financial Times, New York Times, Bloomberg, and other influential publications.

Strategic partnership with KSE

ICU has been a key strategic partner and benefactor of the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE) since 2017.

Over the years, ICU has provided significant financial support to KSE's projects. In addition, ICU is a donor to the KSE Charitable Foundation.

In 2021, ICU donated USD 1 million to finance a university project. The following year, in 2022, ICU donated over half a million dollars to the KSE Foundation's charitable projects. In 2023, ICU has pledged to donate another 1.3 million dollars to the School.

Makar Paseniuk, ICU founding partner, serves as a co-chairman of the KSE Board.

CFA Institute Research Challenge sponsor

For over seven years, ICU has been a key partner of the CFA Institute Research Challenge in Ukraine.

CFA Institute Research Challenge is a competition for talented financial students held in more than 70 countries annually.

Under the guidance of experienced mentors, students prepare investment reports about a renowned company and present them to a jury of the best investment market professionals in Ukraine.

ICU funds a scholarship for the students of the winning teams to pass the prestigious CFA Level 1 financial exam.

 

Cooperation with the Embassy of Ukraine in the UK

ICU has partnered with the Embassy of Ukraine to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland for the last couple of years
