ICU, an independent asset management, private equity and investment advisory firm specialising in Central and Eastern Europe, is pleased to announce the appointment of Sergiy Nikolaychuk as Head of Macroeconomic Research.
In his new position, Sergiy will be responsible for developing top-tier models, views and research analysis on key economic trends in developing and global markets and for shaping ICU’s economic outlook.

Prior to joining ICU, Sergiy was the Deputy Minister of the Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine where he was responsible for strengthening the analytical models of economic policy-making decisions, macroeconomic forecast and attracting investments into Ukrainian economy.
Before that, Sergiy spent 15 years at the National Bank of Ukraine where he started his career as an economist. He rose through the ranks and was promoted to a Director of the Monetary Policy and Economic Analysis Department.
Sergiy is a visiting lecturer and Research Fellow at the Kyiv School of Economics. He is also a visiting lecturer at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv where he received a Master’s in Economics in 2004. Sergiy holds a Ph.D. in Economics from this university.
