Investment group ICU has already allocated $125,000 in grants to 25 students at KSE University as part of its scholarship programme. The recipients include children of Ukraine’s Defenders and young people who have lost their homes because of the war. ICU’s annual support for education at KSE will reach half a million dollars. This contribution will enable young people to access high-quality education and develop their professional potential, regardless of the circumstances their families face.
Makar Paseniuk, ICU Co-founder:
“In 2016, we were among the first in Ukrainian business to believe in KSE’s mission and its potential to become a reality. Ten years on, we can see that the Kyiv School of Economics has succeeded in building an educational environment that has become an intellectual foundation for development and, today, above all, for Ukraine’s economic recovery.”
This is a long-term scholarship programme established by investment group ICU. The scholarships provide access to international-standard education at KSE University across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. They are available to children of military personnel and veterans, families of fallen Defenders, people affected by the war, and internally displaced people.
Kostiantyn Stetsenko, ICU Co-founder:
“We are pleased to be part of KSE’s development — an institution that is raising the standard of economics and business education in Ukraine. Consistent support for education delivers results in the long term: today’s students become the professionals, entrepreneurs and leaders who will shape the country’s reconstruction. We want talented young people to have the opportunity to study and build their professional careers in Ukraine.”
ICU’s example demonstrates how sustained support for an educational institution can lay the foundations for systemic change.
Svitlana Denysenko, Executive Director of KSE Foundation:
“Ukraine’s resilience and recovery require significant resources, above all to develop its people. ICU is one of KSE’s most consistent partners and one of the largest supporters of our educational ecosystem. Led by its co-founders, Makar Paseniuk and Kostiantyn Stetsenko, the company has supported KSE’s development for the past ten years. During this time, ICU has contributed millions of dollars to support the university, develop educational infrastructure and provide student scholarships. This is one of the best examples of a strategic partnership in which support goes beyond individual initiatives and focuses on education as the foundation of human capital and the future of Ukraine’s economy.”
Supporting education is part of ICU’s broader contribution to developing economic expertise in Ukraine. Every week, the ICU team publishes analytical reviews of financial markets and macroeconomic trends, helping readers understand economic developments and assess market prospects. Together with its long-standing support for KSE, this work helps foster an environment where high-quality analysis, economic knowledge and the development of new professionals contribute to the country’s future.
