On 3 November 2017, the 8th Ukrainian Investment Forum, organised by CFA Society Ukraine, was held in Kyiv, with the support of the CFA Institute. The forum is Ukraine’s leading investment industry networking and discussion platform and brings together executives from finance, business, and politics to discuss recent financial markets developments in Ukraine as well as global and local macro issues.
ICU made a valuable contribution to this year’s event with Makar Paseniuk, Managing Partner of ICU, taking part in a debate panel entitled “Top-down macro outlook: from Global to Ukrainian trends”. Makar emphasised the importance of Ukraine implementing the structural reforms demanded by the IMF, identifying land reform as being particularly important for the future prosperity of the country. However, Ukraine should look to a future where it no longer needs IMF support.
